Communication Leadership Network

The Communication Leadership Network is a faculty-led organization that connects University of Iowa students with professors, alumni, and communication professionals to explore careers and build real-world skills. Through networking events, professional development workshops, and other hands-on experiences, students will have opportunities to learn, collaborate, and grow as communicators and leaders. Open to all students, the network gives students a chance to build connections, gain confidence, and prepare for life beyond the classroom.

Within the Communication Leadership Network, students will:

• Build meaningful connections with Communication Studies faculty and learn from their experiences, expertise, and professional perspectives.
• Hear directly from alumni and communication professionals about their careers, experiences, and paths after college.
  Take part in workshops focused on practical skills such as resumes, cover letters, LinkedIn, interviewing, and professional communication.
• Create opportunities to connect what you learn in the classroom with how communication is used in real-world careers and organizations.
• Ask questions, explore different career paths, and gain a better understanding of the many opportunities available to communication students.
• Develop relationships with faculty in a more informal setting outside of the traditional classroom.
